FAQ about Therapy

Q: What happens during the first session?
A: The initial session is your first opportunity to begin sharing your needs and desires, discuss your history, talk about your hopes and what you would like to change. It is also the perfect time to see if you and your therapist are a good fit for each other and what you can expect from therapy going forward.

Q: How does online therapy work?
A: We currently use Zoom and/or iCouch to host therapy sessions. For zoom, after scheduling your session, you will receive a link with information about how to access the session using a computer, phone, or tablet. We also offer phone sessions when necessary. Similarly, on iCouch, you'll receive a link to open a free account and your therapist will send you a link that you can use for future sessions. If you need help, we'll be here to walk you through it.

Q: Do you accept insurance?
A: We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Humana, Medicare, and Medicaid. Before your first session, you will have an opportunity to see what is and isn't covered in our practice. If we do not accept your insurance and you want to submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement, we can give you a receipt to help facilitate any reimbursement you may be entitled to. Please note that submitting an insurance claim means you will need to be given a mental health diagnosis.
